Kamran helps Pakistan to defeat India

Sep 17, 2012
Just a day before the beginning of the ICC T20 world cup, Indian bowlers were unable to defend a good total of 185 in the warm up match against Pakistan even after the chasing team was reduced to ninety one for five by R. Ashwin.  The game was finally finished by the sustained assault by Kamran Akmal with almost an over to spare. All Indian bowlers, apart from R Ashwin has been toyed by Kamran Akmal. An explosive batting has been displayed by Kamran Akmal (90 of 52 balls) along with a good company by Shoaib Malik who made thirty seven runs with a strike rate of two hundred. India will be worrying about the fact that they have lost the game even when playing with five specialist bowlers.

Pakistan, although had a bowling attack that was clearly short of discipline, did well with the bat and reached the mammoth total after a few setbacks in the early stages.  Kamran Akmal, who scored ninety runs of just 52 deliveries, was the star in the Pakistan batting line up. Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh were smashed hard by Kamran Akmal though the run rate was checked a bit by R. Ashwin. With some quick wickets that it seemed that India has gained control over the match as Pakistan has thrown some of their important wickets but in the end, a solid partnership between Kamran Akmal and Malik, with a partnership of 95 runs drove Pakistan to victory.

The two batted quite sensibly until the fifteenth over of the match. After that, four sixes were hit in an over of Zaheer Khan by Kamran Akmal and in the same over, Malik hit a four. Little could be done by the only performing Indian bowler, R. Ashwin when he came back in action in the 18th over of the game. The two played some sensitive cricket in this over and came back with explosives in the nineteenth over of Balaji were Pakistan finished the game in style.
